About Me

about meWelcome to Bumblebird Blog & Designs!

My name is Andrea Marlene and I live in Ontario, Canada with my husband and 3 kids. I worked in police administration for several years before quitting my job to stay at home with my kids full-time. Writing has always been my dream and I am finally pursuing it. In addition to writing this blog, I’ve written for other websites including the Huffington Post and Scary Mommy.

Daily life does not have to be meaningless even if it is often routine and boring. In Restless, Jennie Allen said that, “Diapers and floors and food remind us that we are all human, and there is beauty and character formed in the mundane.” My focus here will always be to find the deeper meaning in the happenings of everyday life. I mostly explore practical matters (because I like things to make sense!) but also matters of faith. And despite what many people may think, these two areas do not necessarily contradict one another.

I am thrilled to offer a range of hand cut, hand stamped stainless steel pendants for sale here on bumblebird. I deliberately chose to work with stainless steel because it’s very strong, doesn’t tarnish, and is hypoallergenic. The pendants are cut and polished by my husband and designed, stamped, and coloured by me.

It’s important to me to be able to sell products that reflect the values of bumblebird blog. The search for meaning in the mundane aspects of life includes living each day with purpose and intent. It involves choosing the values and, of course, people that are important to you and building your life around those things. I am honoured to be able to offer customized pieces that reflect your own personal values and will remind you, as you wear them, of the things that hold meaning for you. That’s why each piece is designed to help you keep what matters most close to your heart.

I am happy to donate 10% of all sales (pre-shipping prices) to the Team Kelsey Nights of Comfort Fund at the Ronald McDonald House in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

I promise to always be truthful and sincere as I share my thoughts with you on the blog and I would ask that all comments be kept respectful. My goal is not only to share my views but also to learn from you so I welcome your thoughts!
